Love Sampler Month #2

Welcome back to month #2 of the LOVE Sampler quilt along.

month 2 button

This month we will be trying some fusible applique and finishing the edge with a satin stitch. Fusible applique is a fast, fun, forgiving method of applique that I love.

Hearts are a great practice shape. You have straight edges, inner curves and outer curves to practice on.

Missed blocks can be purchased in my PatterSpot shop HERE

Helpful tips:

1. When appliques are layered always start your stitching with the back shape first moving forward in order of the layered shapes. Let you start and stop overlap approx. 2 stitches. This will bury your starts and stops under the next round of stitching and keep the neat layered look of the shapes.

2. Special technique for pivoting while satin stitching.
