Wrapping Things Up...

My design wall was about to fall off the wall!! There are soooo many half finished things stuck to it. I've haven't been able to keep my attention on any one thing...squirrel!....lately. LOL. So, I spent the last two days wrapping things up.

A fabulous table runner made with Island Batik fabrics. It goes nicely with my small collection of pink glass.

Two sets of bitty blocks. A parade of happy hippos for the Zoo Theme...

...and a southwest sky for the Night Sky Theme. The moon and thread glow in the dark.

My quilting bee has been following along with an online sewing group and swapping scrappy batik blocks. We got our first 3 months worth back so I got those assembled and this months blocks done and ready to turn in.

Linus is late but finished for BeaQuilter's quilt along.

My friend from Seattle was here for 9 days so between sight seeing and shopping trips we also finished binding 3 quilts that have been UFO's for ages. Woot!

All in all a productive few days!

Stress Relief

Apparently when I get stressed I like to do hand sewing. Who knew? What do you do when you’re stressed?

I’ve been making 3 1/2” cross stitched snow globes for the bitty block swap. I haven’t cross stitched since my kids were little… back in prehistoric days….but I’m really enjoying it!

Can you say HO, HO, HO before Thanksgiving?

Lost My Marbles, Etc.

Well, I officially lost my marbles. I signed up for the bitty block hand quilting round. What was I thinking?!? I’m doing everyone’s initials and will be squeaking under the wire on this finish.

And because I’m as distractible as a dog seeing a squirrel…McDonald’s has hexi bots in their happy meals! I’ve nabbed 4 so far this week. Two are wind up and two are pull & go. My dog has been enjoying the burgers and I’ve been enjoying the toys. LOL.

Bitty Block Swap

It seems like FOREVER since I hopped in on a bitty block swap. This round was a steam punk theme so I couldn’t resist.

Here’s my version of a steam punk hummingbird. All his components are pieces from my various high school mechanical drawing homework. LOL. What a weird flash back going through that stack of papers.

Still humming along and getting things done in the sewing room!

Bitty Block Fun…..

The theme for this round of bitty blocks was “play on words”. Here are my blocks…Can you figure them out?

I also created a special frame to hang my bitty blocks on after each round. It seemed a waste not to enjoy them more. I found a real wood frame at the Goodwill Store, painted it, added wire, and itty bitty clothes pins. It was a bit rickety but the wire grid holds it all together nicely.

Have a GREAT day today!!!

Sometimes…

Sometimes my trash can just gets in the way of my creativity. Hahaha. I don’t think I will ever be the poster child for paper piecing but I sure had a ton of fun doing it.

IMG_3683

I finished my March Bitty Blocks. The theme was butterflies. These are all 3.5 inch blocks.

Both designs were from EQ7. The black butterfly was modified a lot though.
