Sewing For Good Not Evil

Do you like to paper piece? Why not start the year off sewing for a great cause! I finished my sword and shield today.

Richard and his son, from the Richard and Tanya Quilts blog, have designed a quilt to be given to the Autism School as a  fund raiser. The quilt must be finished by March so they are hoping for some of the blocks to be donated by generous folks to help get it finished in time.

The blocks are a paper pieced sword and shield which finish at 6.5 inches. The pattern can be downloaded using the links below.

Helpful Tip

Attaching the top of the shield was a little tricky but here is a helpful tip…. Match up the intersections were the dots are first.

corner match

Insert a pin straight through the two points.

Then match up the remainder of the seam and sew. When you press you will have a lovely straight line.
