#10 – The Early Bird
Quilted and bound
It isn’t what I had in mind 20 plus years ago when I started it as a hand applique project but it’s finally finished and being used. So many memories are in this quilt. All the places I sat for hours doing hand applique. But I’ve changed and my view of sewing has changed and it’s finished. That’s all that matters.
All the chickens and chicken parts are hand appliqued. The background and chicken outlines are machine quilted. I removed the original border that I had started and made a more upbeat colorful one that’s simple and added button eyes .
Some days I can totally relate to that poor little worm!
Oh! And lookie…I have a fence now to hang quilts on. Hahaha.
