This is one of my favorite quick gifts. You can whip one up in just a few minutes using your scraps.
Supplies that make 2
- two 10” squares (different colors for inside and outside)
- two 5” squares (for front flap)
- two 1 1/2” x 16” for straps
- button, yo-yo, or other embellishment
Directions
Cut the two 10” squares on the diagonal.
Mix them together.
Fold the 5” squares twice on the diagonal to make prairie points and press.
Fold the strap in half and press. Bring the sides in to the fold line and press again. Sew close to the edge creating the narrow straps.
Center and pin the prairie point on on a large triangle. Pin the straps right next to the prairie point edge.
TIP: place strap so the sewn edge faces to the outside.
Add the remaining triangle to the stack with “pretty” sides touching. Pin and sew along the edge with the prairie point then press the fabrics out.
Fold in half bringing the sides together. Sitch th leaving a small opeing on the inside fabric for turing.
Clip points. Turn out and poke points out neatly. Stitch opening shut.
Stuff inside fabric down into the pocket.
Add your pretty buttons, yo-yo-s or other embellishments then stuff with your little treats.
Enjoy!!!
