We started our last day in Antonito, Colorado. We road the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad through the mountains all the way to Chama, New Mexico.
Do you like trains? I do and there’s photo craziness ahead!
Engine 489 is a reconditioned, coal fired, steam run, narrow gauge engine built in 1925.
We were really on the edge of the mountain in a lot of places. Our highest point was over 10,000 feet above sea level. And yes, they told stories of trains going off the edge. Gah!
I spent a lot of time standing on the back balcony. The views were amazing.
We passed two cowboys herding their cattle. What a classic scene. LOL
That’s an old telegraph pole sticking up on the right.
I feel a train quilt coming on don’t you?
Sadly vacation is over and it’s time for the looooong ride back home. But I would do it all again! Such awe inspiring sights.
And the second best part of this vacation.…I didn’t gain any weight. I actually lost another pound and I’m looking forward to my Weight Watchers weigh in. Woot!
New Doll Pattern Coming Tomorrow…….

Oh that train ride looks very inviting. Very nostalgic and very romantic! I wish I could have been there! Congrats on the WW! Don't you love it when the weight comes off even on vacation!
Fantástico viaje. Gracias por compartirlo.
