Wait until you see this nifty notion!! You’re going to want to give it as a stocking stuffer to all your sewing friends.
I was cleaning up and realized that I had a ton of random batting pieces piling up. Batting is so expensive I just can’t part with the leftover pieces but I hate to go through the hassle of sewing them back together. Sooo, I decided to give Heat N Bond’s Batting Tape a try.
Are you skeptical…..I was!
As you can see it’s very sheer but strong.
All you have to do is stack your batting pieces and cut a nice straight edge.
Place the batting on the ironing surface and butt the trimmed edges up nice and tight. No overlapping needed.
Place the Batting Tape over the seam. One side of the tape feels a little rough. That’s the side with the glue.
The directions said to use a pressing cloth but I just ironed it. It didn’t take much to make it stick.
The hold was surprisingly strong. The seam was very soft and flexible. I tried a few pieces applying it to both sides of the seam and it still remained quite soft and flexible. The seam wasn’t even noticeable.
I tested it on Warm and Natural cotton, Quilter’s Dream poly, and Hobbs Heirloom 80/20. The bond was excellent on all of them.

I save lots of batting scraps, but can never seem to sew them together so that they lay flat. The batting tape sounds like it may be the answer to my problem.
