Here is the zig-zag rainbow I showed on the design wall the other day. The top is finished and waiting to be quilted for charity. I think some little child will enjoy it don’t you? There is a tutorial below for anyone interested.
Scrappy Zig-Zag Rainbow Tutorial 1/4 Inch seam allowance
Finished size is approx. 40 1/2 wide x 44 1/2 tall

Step 2 – Sew the Blocks
Sew one color strip to one white strip creating all your 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 blocks.
Press seam towards the colored side.
Step 3 – Create the Rows
Sew your rows alternating one block set vertical and one block set horizontal creating the zig-zag pattern.
Press seams neatly towards the vertical strips.
Step 4 – Sew the Rows Together
Pin all the intersecting seams first. They should be facing in opposite directions making them butt together nicely.
Sew your rows together and press neatly.
Step 5 – Cut and Add the Borders

Cut your top/bottom border strips 2 1/2 x 40 1/2 piecing as needed

Step 6 – Quilt, Bind and Label
Quilt and bind any way you like. Don’t forget to add a label to the back.
Enjoy!
