I added the black fabric to frame the little squares but I’m thinking maybe it should have been navy blue instead. Hmmm.

Quick Tutorial for Mini Focal Point Quilt
Supplies
(10) 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 squares for center design
(10) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 squares for center design
(20) 2 x 3 1/2 strips for center design
(20) 2 x 6 1/2 strips for center design
(36) 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 strips for border
(4) 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 squares for corners
1/4 inch seam allowance
Step 1 – Frame Small Squares
Attach the 2 x 3 1/2 strips to the sides of all the small squares.
Press neatly. Straight up and down without steam.
Attach 2 x 6 1/2 strips to the top and bottom of each small square section.
Press neatly.
Step 2 – Make Center Rows
Sew alternating a framed block with a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 block. Two rows will begin with a framed block and three with a plain block.
Step 3 – Complete Center Design
Sew rows together to complete the center design and set aside.
Step 4 – Create Side Borders
Sew (10) 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 strips together to make the side border. Do this twice.
Press neatly.
Attach to the sides of the center design. Two strips equal one block so match your seams accordingly.
Press neatly.
Step 5 – Create the Top and Bottom Border
Sew (8) 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 strips together to make the top and bottom borders. Do this twice.
Sew an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 corner block to each end of the top/bottom border strips.
Press neatly.
Attach to the top and bottom of the design. Two strips equal one block so match your seams accordingly.
Press neatly.
