Dance Body Suit
1/3 yard outer fabric
1/3 yard fabric for lining
Piece of Velcro
Sewing Supplies
Step 1 – Print the Pattern
Fold the outer fabric in half. Pin the pattern on and cut out. Make sure the stretch of the fabric runs side to side NOT top to bottom. You will have 2 pieces.
Repeat for the lining fabric. You will have 2 pieces.
Step 3 – Line Arm and Leg Openings
Place one outer fabric and one lining fabric together with “pretty” sides touching. Make the edges even and pin.
Sew the upper arm openings and shoulder strap using a 3/8 inch seam.
Sew the leg openings.
Repeat this step for the second set of fabric. They will be opposites like the photo.
Step 4 – Clip Curves and Corners
Carefully clip a small triangle off the corners.
Carefully clip your curves. Do not cut your stitches.
Step 5 – Turn and Press
Turn pretty side out and press neatly.
Step 6 -Sew Back and Front Together
Place the front and back together with “pretty” sides touching. Make the edges even and pin.
Sew the side edges using a 1/2 inch seam.
Sew the bottom using a 3/8 inch seam.
Step 7 – Add Velcro
On the front of the outfit pin and sew the Velcro to the under side of the shoulder strap. On the back of the outfit pin and sew the Velcro to the outer side of the shoulder strap. When the straps come together they should overlap like the photo.

Supply List
1/3 yard of two different colors of tulle (not netting)
1/3 yard of two different colors of tulle (not netting)
1 yard of 3/8 wide ribbon
Sewing Supplies
Step 1 – Cut the Strips
Cut the tulle into 2 inch wide strips x 12 inches long (the width of 1/3 yard of fabric)
Step 2 – Tie the Strips
Tie the ribbon around your doll’s waist. Leave loose enough to fit two fingers under the ribbon.
Fold the tulle strip in half creating a loop and place it under the ribbon.
Bring the ends of the tulle over the ribbon and through the loop you created.
Pull loop to create a loose knot.
Continue alternating colors until the ribbon is covered.
