Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show part 2

Thread painting and lots of insanely detailed machine quilting were definitely the trend this year. I was happy to see lots and lots of applique too. There weren’t very many traditional pieced quilts.

More eye candy for you to drool over….

The photo doesn’t do this justice. The white area around the fish is sheer fabric appliqued over the top to look like the moving surface of the water. Amazing.

The emotion of this piece just draws you in. You can feel the anguish. The color, art and texture just speak to you.
