Bikini Top
Supply List for Top and Bottoms
1/4 yard fabric
Package of double fold bias tape (wide if you’re an inexperienced sewer, narrow otherwise)
Sewing Supplies
Step 1 – Print the Pattern
Print the PDF pattern HERE
Step 2 – Cut the Fabric
Pin the pattern pieces to the fabric and cut them out.
Step 3 – Cut Bias Tape
2 pieces of bias tape 15 inches long
1 piece of bias tape 24 inches long
Step 4 – Sew the Top Edge
Place two bathing suit top pieces together with “pretty” sides touching. Make the edges even and pin.
Sew the top edge using a 3/8 seam.
Turn the fabric pretty side out and press the sewn edge neatly.
Step 5 – Sew the Side Straps
Use the two small bias strips for the side straps.
Unfold the bias tape and place along the back side edge making it even with the fabric. Sew along the fold line of the tape.
Refold the tape along the fold lines and wrap it around the edge of the fabric to the front and pin.
Sew all the way down the tape to make a strap.
Step 6 – Sew the Bottom Strap
Use the long tape for the bottom strap.
Place the bikini top on the table with the wrong side facing up. Unfold the tape and center along the bottom edge of the bikini top.
Sew along the fold line of the tape.Refold the tape along the fold lines and wrap it around the edge of the fabric to the front and pin.
Sew all the way down the tape to make a strap.
Step 7 – Finishing
Make little knots at the ends of your ties (optional)
Enjoy your Bikini Top!
Bikini Bottoms
Supplies
See above with the bikini top
Step 1 – Print the Pattern
Print the PDF pattern HERE (same as above printout)
Step 2 – Cut the Fabric
Pin the pattern pieces to the fabric and cut them out.
Step 3 – Cut Bias Tape
2 piece of bias tape 24 inches long
Step 4 – Sew the Side Edges
Place two bikini front pieces together with “pretty” sides touching. Make the edges even and pin.
Sew the side edges using a 3/8 seam.
Repeat these steps for the bikini back pieces.
Turn fabric pretty side out and press.
Step 5 – Sew the Front and Back Together
Place the front and back pieces together with “pretty” sides touching. Make the bottom edge even and pin.
Sew with a 3/8 seam.
Step 6 – Sew the Straps
Place the bikini on the table with the wrong side facing up. Unfold the tape and center it along the top edge.
Sew along the fold line of the tape.Refold the tape along the fold lines and wrap it around the edge of the fabric to the front and pin.
Sew all the way down the tape to make a strap.
Repeat for the other strap.
Step 7 – Finishing
Make little knots at the ends of your ties (optional).

Thank you so much for sharing! I made one for my niece's doll and it is adorable!
My Grand-daughter and I have just finished making her first AG Doll outfit, thanks to your pattern. GD had her first sewing lesson and cut and machine sewed the majority of the outfit herself. We are both thrilled with her efforts. A reat way to boost Lanie's wardrobe as AG Doll stuff is hard to find here in Australia.
Thank you for the fantastic patterns for 18" dolls. I'm intending to use the bikini bottoms part of this pattern for doll underwear, substituting a strip of wide elastic for the tie straps. It would make the easiest pattern for underwear I've seen!
