Spa Set

Body Wrap

Supply List
1/4 yard of  terry fabric
1/4 yard of cotton fabric
Velcro – 2 1/2 inches of fuzzy & 1 inch of loop
Freezer paper, wrapping paper or newspaper to draw your pattern
Sewing supplies

Step 1 - Make the Pattern

Draw an 8 x 16 inch rectangle on paper and label it “spa body wrap – cut 1 of terry & cut 1 of fabric”

Step 2 - Cut the Fabrics

Stack both fabrics together with “pretty sides” touching and pin the pattern on top. Cut it all out.

Step 3 – Sew the Wrap

Remove the pattern and re-pin the fabrics.

Use a fabric marker to mark a 2 inch opening on the side of the wrap

Sew around the wrap using a 1/2 inch seam. Do not sew between your marks. It helps to sew with the terry fabric facing down on the feed dogs.

 

Step 4 – Clip Corners and Finish

Carefully clip your corners. Do not cut your stitching.

Turn wrap right side out. Use your point turner to make neat corners.

Work the seam to the edge and pin as you go. Top stitch around the wrap using your presser foot as a guide. This will close the opening .

Step 5 – Add Velcro

On the terry fabric sew the 2 1/2 inch piece of Velcro to the upper corner.

On the cotton side sew the 1 inch piece of Velcro to the upper corner. Make sure the Velcro overlaps when wrapped.

Headband

Supply List
3 1/2 x 11 inch piece of terry fabric

4 inches of 1 inch wide elastic

Sewing supplies

Step 1 – Hem the Ends

Fold the short ends in 1/2 inch and pin.

Sew along this edge to make a hem.

Step 2 – Sew the Headband

Fold the fabric in half with “pretty sides” touching making a 1 3/4 x 11 inch rectangle. Make the edges even and pin. Sew the long side only using a 3/8 inch seam.

Turn “pretty” side out. You will have a tube.

Step 3 – Attach the Elastic

Slide the ends of the elastic in to the tube and pin to hold.

Sew across the ends of the tube to attach the elastic.

Supply list

Terry fabric

Matching felt

Paper to draw your pattern on

Sewing supplies

Step 1 – Make the Pattern
Draw an oval around the doll’s foot. Make it a 1/4 inch larger to allow for the sewing. My oval is approx. 2 inches wide x 3 1/4 inches long.

Label the pattern “slipper – cut 1 of terry fabric & 2 of felt per slipper”

Step 2 – Cut the Fabrics
Pin the pattern to the felt and cut out 4 (this is for two slippers).

Pin the pattern to the terry fabric and cut out 2 (this is for 2 slippers).

Step 3 – Sew the Slipper
Place the two felt pieces on the table. Two felt pieces make the slipper bottom a little stiffer and not so floppy.

Fold the terry fabric in half and place on top of the pile with the fold to the middle of the slipper.  Make the edges even and pin.


Set your machine on  a zig zag stitch. Stitch slowly along the edge of the slipper. I used contrasting thread for viewing only.


Turn the slipper pretty side out. You don’t have to turn it if you don’t want too. It works either way. I just like the neater edge on mine.
