Give Away…..and More

It’s hard to believe another year is almost over.  I want to thank everyone that has read, commented, followed, stalked and otherwise dropped by my blog this year. It’s been a wonderful adventure and your support has kept me going.

This was supposed to be the year of de-stashing and finishing UFO’s. Well, my UFO buckets are finally empty. I can’t believe my eyes! This is the first time I will be starting a quilting year off with a clean slate…EVER!

On the other hand, I moved a ton of stash out while making projects but managed to purchased and moved a  ton back in. Technically I met my goal but it was a rather ridiculous goal to make. HAHAHA. Lesson learned.

This year I….

Finished 8 quilts
Finished 20 tops including a 24 year old UFO! (some were sold and some are waiting for quilting)
Finished 10 applique fleece blankets
Finished 10 quilted wall hangings
Donated 73 blocks to 4Patches4Hope
Donated 4 quilts to Quilts for Kids
Donated 30 patchwork blankets and 23 patchwork pillows to the SPCA
Donated 10 stockings and 12 applique zipper pouches to the Stockings for Kids
Created countless other crafty projects, tutorials and pattern designs

Did you meet your goals this year? What did you finish?

2012 will be the year of creating new patterns and improving my free-motion quilting skills on my home machine. I’m hoping Santa will bring me a new machine. Hint, Hint.

I spotted this free motion quilting challenge that sounds like fun.

  1. To continue learning new things (I'm still a novice), to strive for excellence not perfection and, above all, to have fun in the process - it's my hobby not my job!!

  3. That is an amazing amount of things to get done!
I would like to do an art quilt in 2012, but I also have to get another chicken pen built to house my new Black Copper Marans, separate and sell the bantam Silkies that won't work in my breeding/showing program, get my husband moved up here with me. Way too much to keep going. LOL

  5. I wish I had more time to accomplish more of my goals. Sometimes after work I just don't feel like getting my quilty stuff out. I have quite a few WIP's I would like to finish this year and a couple of promised quilts. I tend to get sidetracked easily!!

  8. I joined the FMQ challenge as well. I've been trying to learn and improve my quilting so I thought that would be a great opportunity. I also want to work on reducing my ufo stash.
